BIG SHOT IS WONDERFUL

Working with my new Big Shot is so much fun. I have made snowflakes and flowers out of every conceivable media. The Deck the Halls stamp set that is featured in the new Holiday mini, goes well with the Big Shot snowflake die and Snow jumbo wheel.
I used the new 6x6 designer paper that is a new hostess item and the color wheel to find coordinating colors. Sometimes I like to experiment with colors that are not traditional for the holiday season.

Labor Day Weekend
These last two weeks have been busy and crammed full for rain drops. Here in Atlanta we have been in the midst of a extreme drought. But the remnants of the hurricane dumped 5 days of rain in Georgia. Lake Lanier which is down over 15 feet is up a total of 2.5 feet today. So the rain will help fisherman and boaters.
We just laid low and watched the drops fall. Also cleaned out some of the drawers and baskets in my stamping room. It is amazing how much you accumulate in stamping supplies in five years.
I also stamped 25 cards for Tina's sisters benefit in Ohio and will work on the scrapbook pages this weekend.
I will be moving my stamping room to a new location in the house to make room for Kristen, Ivy and Graham. Dennis will be coming soon. They will be living with us for a few months as they settle into Atlanta area and decide where to buy or build a house.
Kenny's office "Fantasy Football Room" will serve double duty when I invade his space with paper, stamps and inks. I am still trying to decide how to place the furniture and tables to make it all fit. I will let you know how it all turns out.
Have a great weekend and keep those ink pads wet.

Outrageous Open House
We had a great time at my open house. Lots of stamping and laughter, everyone loved Stampin Up's new In Colors and the new stamp sets.
We did masking with Lovely as a Tree and made a beautiful navy, burgandy and white sparkely (is that a word) tree. Looked like a forest after a snow storm.
Faux Metal using copper and an acorn stamp from Fabulous Fall created quite the buzz. That set is so versatile and what a cute acorn it makes. Add to a couple of stamped oak leaves for a great highlight.
Two step stamping technique had its own charm. Stampers could make three samples. Tone on tone using stampin off for the base, then light/ dark using two different colors of ink, and finally stamping off and kissing.
We used simple shapes and Simply Said stamp sets with mellow moss and copper inks.
The displays from the previous post were well received and designer papers are always a favorite. The new catalog will have many ear marked pages, so awesome.
So all in all -a nice day.
Talk to you soon, Becky

A week end of relaxation
It is hot and muggy in Atlanta, too hot to cook so we just had to go to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Yummy food and breakfast is my favorite meal to eat out. So many choices that I usually do not have in my freezer or pantry. We got there by 8:45am so not even really crowded no wait! That in itself was a bonus.
I decided that I just wanted a day to relax with my sweetie so we watched movies, read the paper and just enjoyed the day. I did stamp a little, of course. Made a really cute Sock Monkey ard for my newest son-in-law for his birthday. He was just recently in an automobile accident and feeling a little under the weather so thought a nice sock monkey would cheer him up.
Megan celebrates her birthday next week so am sending both gifts together to them on Monday. I find it hard to believe that my youngest baby is 31. That make me , whew never mind that thought. ha ha ha
But I did decide that while everyone tells me the grey looks great, so strike out on my own and color my hair. Bought one of those new kits by Loreal that colors and highlights. Truffle was the color sounds good right?
Well, it turned out ok but the highlights seem to blend and don't stand out very much. But better that than have ing a head of bold stripes. (I do feel like i am looking at a stranger in the mirroe) will take a while to get used to it. Going for a haircut today to try to tame the helmet look. My hair doesn't get longer it gets bigger!
We kept Madeline last night while her Mom and Dad went to a movie. We had a great time watching the squirrel in the bird feeder and the hummingbirds flitting around the Rose of Sharon.
She helped me cook dinner. She made corn fritters "all by myself", she's 3 and loves to help in the kitchen. She was a really cute witch at Halloween.
So long for now and have a great day!

Christmas in July Card 3
This cards was so easy that my granddaughter's are going to love making it. I used Bashful Blue and Always Artichoke papers with a scrap of designer paper left over from last Christmas . Snow Flurries and Flakey Friends added all I needed for a HappyHolidays card.
I stamped Snow flurries in Always Artichoke and puched out one to add to the label with a dimensional. Layered and added a perky knotted ribbon for accent. Have fun using this pattern and let your imagination run wild.
Christmas in July Card 2
Lovely as a Tree with Iridescent Ice makes a sparkling tree for your Christmas giving. Stamp off with white for the side trees after masking the center tree. Then stamp without stamping off the center tree and emboss. Merry Christmas ifs from the Holidays & Wishes set. Cardstock Night of Navy, Bravo Burgandy and Whisper White make this card elegant and dreamy.
This card reminds me of a time at Grandma's house when it snowed on Christmas Day leaving the trees a winter wonderland.

Christmas in July Deer Friends
The new Level 2 Hostess set Deer Friends was used with Real Red, Artichoke and Red Designer paper for this quick and easy Christmas card.
I love the Scallop Punch it can add so much with one easy motion.
Santa's Hat has a piece of designer paper for a splash of color and a dash of dazzling diamonds glitter for pizzazz. White satin ribbon tied around the middle finishes this Holiday Happiness card.
